Wisdom is NOT Knowledge!

Goood morning!

"A single conversation across the table with a wise man is better than ten years mere study of books."- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I was scrolling through Instagram this morning and the rapper, Lil Scrappy, posted a photo with the caption, "By 3 methods we may learn wisdom: First by reflection which is noblest. Second by imitation which is easiest. And third by Experience which is the bitterest." And I thought that was simply just fantastic! Who is the wisest person you've ever known?

We get so caught in knowing everything that we forget that facts and stats don't bring your wisdom, they bring you knowledge! (And nobody likes a Know-It-All!) And we know that thee wisest person knows that she knows nothing at all!

So, allow me to try to explain Renee B Renee style, of course, Wisdom and knowledge.

Wisdom is the undying, unrelenting pursuit of something that you feel in your heart of hearts to be true. ("I feel it in my bones, baby!") It is not learned nor developed overnight. It doesn't require much schooling nor money... "they" say (Whomever they are) that the wisest Human Beings are the ones who've been through the most and lived the longest and the fullest (and I'm not just talking about age).

It is experiences after experiences; lessons and dues paid on life.

Wisdom is passion.

The good thing about knowledge though, is that it can be enhanced and strengthened; the brain is the strongest muscle in the body. Pick up a book and read! We all know the saying, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste." You can go nowhere in this life without knowledge, but you can go everywhere with wisdom! Harriet Tubman didn't know how to read when she freed those slaves! And if I'm not mistaken, Booker T. Washington was born into slavery and died as one of the founders of Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama!

Those are things that can't be learned from a textbook nor do I think can be taught in a classroom!

So, if you asked me if I'm an intelligent young woman, I'd say yes. I'd say that I'm wise beyond my years, as well. Not because of the things that I've seen, but from the conversations that I've had the pleasure of being apart of growing up in my years on this Earth.

I choose to surround myself with Human Beings who are better than I am; those who are hungrier than I am, faster, smarter,  wiser, more beautiful because I feed off of their energy. I want to find that passion that they've found. And not only that, but I want to know how to hone in on my own passion. Why? Because I'm hoping that one day I will be able to have a younger person come along and feed off of me. I'm no hoarder. What I have to give is freely given amongst those who need it because in the end...

… It IS a pleasure to meet you!
