Goood morning!
Do me a favor and take, "TRY" out of your mouth! Take it out of your vocabulary! What you don't understand about "trying" something is that you already lack faith in that action. Did you know that? "I'll try to get out here and do my best, but..." "I tried, but..."
Try is just a noble way of saying that you failed. You have little faith in what you're setting out to do, and that you did it just to say you did.
It's almost like statistics; the probability of something happening based upon something that has already happened with a certain number of people... blah blah blah! I didn't take stats, I suck at math, but bear with me for this one.
What are some known stats, today? Let's look some up:
- About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.
- Fewer than 2 percent of NCAA student-athletes go on to be professional athletes.
- The chances of becoming famous are 1 in 110,501.
- 1 in every 15 African American men and 1 in every 36 Hispanic men are incarcerated in comparison to 1 in every 106 white men.
- According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, 1 in 3 black men can expect to go to prison in their lifetime.
If you based your life upon these stats, would we have professional athletes? 1 in 3 black men can expect to go to prison in their lifetimes? That's A LOT of black black who lack of hope and faith of ever becoming anything professional or successful because the odds are against him.
We HAVE to change the narrative!
And we have to stop taking constructive criticism from Human Beings who haven't constructed a thing! It's ridiculous that we take things so personal from folks who don't even know us personally.
Stop that!
One thing that I know for sure: Change is inevitable. It is something that is absolutely necessary. And when you're proactive with the changes in your life, change begins to happen.
In order to get somewhere that you've never been, you may have to do some things that you've never done.
Give God something to bless!
Imagine for a moment that you are baking a cake and the only ingredients you have to use are your past; your experiences, circumstances, and situations. The friends that you've chosen, the paths you've traveled, even the prayers you've prayed, how does your cake taste?
Bitter?
Sweet?
Is it flat?
Dry?
Moist?
Tasteless?
Maybe your cake has changed in taste over the years because you've changed the ingredients. You've made some choices in your life that were a little more hurtful than harmful, so you have a bitter-tasting cake. But then you got on the right path and now it's tasting a little better, but it's not perfect. You're still living, that's why. Your cake will change in taste probably for the rest of your life. Because life is happening. You're doing things differently, now. You're growing and aging.
Your faith.
Your willpower.
Your motivation.
Your reasoning.
Your inspiration.
Your decisions.
Your paths.
These are all contributing factors in your life that could change the trajectory of your life and alter the taste of your cake in a split moment.
If we keep comparing ourselves to others then we will never truly be satisfied with our own lives. I can vaguely remember someone saying that we LOVE to base God's blessings off of what He's done in the past as if that's all He can do!
God created this world in 6 days, you don't think He can heal your body? You don't think He can pull you out of that dark place? You don't think that He can wipe out your debts?
Stop limiting God and give Him something to bless!
We love to say that because something didn't happen for us then, "I guess it wasn't God's will..." or "Maybe God had other plans..."
No!
Stop using God as an excuse for something not happening because you decided to do it your way! You didn't want to listen when God told you to stop and be still, now you're looking crazy and want to blame Him! That's thee wrong answer! He isn't an excuse, but a reason!
And that's the trouble with a lot of Human Beings, you aren't ready to receive what you're asking of God not even knowing that He's already answered your prayers. You just aren't ready. You haven't arrived at the place for these blessings to be received. They're there and waiting for you to get there.
Now, this may sound contradictory, but the only thing that you should be TRYING to do is please God. I mean, we can all agree that trying does require some level of effort. We aren't perfect, we will fall short every single day, but we still try; we will put forth an effort because God is still in the blessing business!
Life is a marathon.
You're at your own pace.
And may the odds forever be in YOUR favor!
So, without further adieu...
... it IS a pleasure to meet you!
Oooo I hate change. But l also know it’s apart of the process.
