No Smoke!
Goood morning!
There aren't many things that I regret in my life, but today, today I regret not knowing how to cook!I've just never had an interest in cooking. Looking back on my formative years, I was presented with plenty of opportunities to learn, but nah... I found interests in reading, writing, and Oprah. Actually, my interested included anything other than domestic stuff; cooking, gardening, sewing, cleaning up more than my room, etc...
To this day, I refuse to use a dishwasher! (Thanks, Mum!)
Maybe I should subscribe to one of those meal-prep programs or something?? At least until I get the hang of everything because I would love to start a garden and have some fresh fruit and veggies growing in my back yard!
Now, wouldn't that be something!? (Pray over that one, we'll see if it sticks!)
Look, this isn't going to be an informational post about that devilish COVID-19. I'm not about to hurt my wrists trying to tell you what you should already know to be doing at a time like this and because you should have already been doing this, but just a quick reminder: "WASH YOUR HANDS!" and now, more than ever, "DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS!"
I don't want NO smoke with 'Rona!
I don't have any conspiracy theories nor am I interested in any of them. The ignorance that I've read about and heard is just a mess. Leave Asians alone! This virus don't give a darn about where you're from or whether you're male or female, so knock it off! But what I do have is a sense of humor and my FAITH; I pray without ceasing.
I want to count my blessings because God is STILL in the blessing business!
The Lord promised to take care of HIS people, so why are we running around panicking!? I have a phenomenal pastor (Rev. Tyler J. Prude) who is preaching on the theme "Greater is Coming," but last Sunday's sermon really got me!
Pastor said, "Christians do not have common sense. We don't operate off of common sense..." I popped up then because huh!?!? He went on to say, "... We operated off of GOD SENSE! IF Moses had common sense, he wouldn't have lifted a staff into the air and parted the Red Sea... if David had common sense he wouldn't have taken a stone and sling and defeated Goliath! If Noah had common sense, he wouldn't have built that Arc and brought on the living creatures two by two..."
But let me take it a step further and say, IF Jesus Christ had common sense, he sho wouldn't have gone to Calvary and died on that old rugged Cross!
Tap into that God sense in the coming days! Get your water and toilet tissue, your food and necessities for your home, but reach out and help somebody else! It's ok to be prepared, but don't take EVERYTHANG in sight especially when you see elderly citizens who are more at risk than you and they're still trying to get their groceries; be respectful and SHARE!
Nobody said a word about things running out in this country. We're just buying up stuff faster than they can stock the shelves! Calm down!
We aren't in a crisis until the prune juice and Spam leaves the shelves. When I see the uncooked rice and beans leave the shelves then I'll have to tap into some common sense! (just kidding! I don't even know how to cook the cooked rice and beans!)
But if you're working from home then take this time to relax and breathe! Everybody has been on the move for so long that they probably don't even know what interests them anymore. Reacquaint yourself with the Human Beings you live with and see if y 'all still like each other. Read a book, I'd recommend, "Tuesdays with Morrie" by Mitch Albom! You can go for a nice walk and then graduate to a run and get the body that you've always wanted. Spring has arrived! You could even try something new! I love 5-D diamond paintings! The possibilities are endless!
But whatever you do, don't lose sight of God's promises. Let your faith in Him anchor your soul. Be like a tree planted by the rivers, you shall NOT be moved (Jeremiah 17:7-8).
What the enemy meant for evil, watch how the Lord comes and turns this around for you!
So, without further adieu...
… It IS a pleasure to meet you!
Girl this post just blessed me. God sense!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Pass it on!
DeleteYes ma'am!! I couldn't agree more! God's sense is what we should hold to! God will never lead anyone astray so trust him whole heartedly! A little faith goes a long way!
ReplyDeleteTrying new things can be such a refreshing experience! You will learn so much about yourself in the process! I strongly encourage others to try new things as often as possible .
P.s. I would love to help you in the cooking department!
Please help me learn how to cook! Maybe by this time next year, I can be cooking up some things!
